If you’ve made it this far, I just want to say thank you for sticking with it. You’ve heard what the purpose of the series was for the last 20 Days, so I wanted to take this last video to talk to you about my personal reasons for why I decided to do this series for you.
With any business, it’s great when you start
You have all sort of passion and drive and you have to prove to yourself that you can make it work. When you hit those first milestones you get so excited and it keeps you driven.
But eventually you get bored.
Once you’ve hit those milestones time and time again, you get that high paying client, you get a certain amount of base line , you make a video tutorial every week, your business can get stale.
It feels like you’re saying the same stuff over and over again, and you’re doing the same things over and over again. And you don’t necessarily know what to do. You know if you keep doing the same thing, you’ll drive yourself nuts.
Sure you know how to maintain what you thought was impossible in the first place, and you might even be able to do a little more than that. But even pushing just a little bit doesn’t help you recapture the feeling of accomplishment.
That’s really my reason for doing this series.
Yes of course I wanted to help you, but if I’m being totally honest with you, from a total selfish standpoint I had to commit myself to something that I thought would be impossible just to see if I could do it.
But in order to really be satisfied, there had to be a higher standard. I wanted to make sure you weren’t getting just standard run of the mill information here, you deserve better than that.
I wanted to give you high quality stuff that if you roll with it will help you really connect with your s. I know this, because in just doing some of this stuff while demonstrating for the videos it helped me to connect with you better.
It wasn’t easy. There were days I had no idea what I was going to talk about.
Heck before we even started this series, I had said two days before that I need to plan it out, but couldn’t find the time, but still had to put something out on Day 1 because if I didn’t do it then, I knew I would find a bunch of other reasons to not do it.
I have a full time client work, coaching sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and at the time of this recording a 9 month old son and a wedding in two months.
There were plenty of legitimate reasons to not dive headlong into this.
But I couldn’t keep feeling like my business wasn’t going to grow. I couldn’t stand the feeling of getting bored. And I hated that for the past couple of months, I felt like giving up and doing something “safe”.
If you’re getting bored with your business.
But here’s what I’m getting at, if this is you. If you’re getting bored, or your not seeing growth, or feeling 100% satisfied with your business.
Fix your about page, rewrite your Twitter Bio, start writing that manifest you’ve been talking about. Compile your old blog posts and make an ebook, record a rant on video about something that drives you crazy. Start a series, read a book, respond to a bunch of comments on someone else’s blog. Find something new and share it with the world. Do a live Q&A session.
Learn. Grow. Evolve
The purpose of this series was not just to help you to develop deeper relationships with your s, it was to help me reconnect with my own passion for what I do, and if you’ve been feeling lethargic, do something.
Raise your bar. It’s going to take more than you thought was possible, but it’s absolutly worth it. In giving more than you thought possible, you’ll learn more about yourself and how you want to shape your business too.
For the longest time my tagline has been I blog. I beatbox. I get the asses in the seats. and I’ve loved that, but talking about all of the mission stuff in the second half of the series has helped me to realize that isn’t something people can connect to.
Through this series, I have discovered my own mission
Which has been something I’ve struggled to define for almost two years. So really, if you’ve been feeling like your business is just at a comfortable lull, do something dramatic and see if by the end of it you don’t feel a whole new passion and a much clearer image of what it is you want to do.
