In 2016, Shopify Plus was not the powerhouse they are today. They had just signed their first 1,000 customers and did not have lead generation assets or attribution models. They were scrappy, lean, and out to prove their legitimacy in the enterprise market.
One way to prove their knowledge was to write a series of industry reports covering 8 main verticals; Fashion & apparel, consumer electronics, health and beauty, retail, baby, health and wellness, home furnishings, and food and beverage.
These 110-page reports shared industry projections based on historical trends, emerging technologies, expert insights, and instinct based on Shopify’s own internal data.
The reports were shared with leads and agency partners to solidify Shopify’s position as a market leader. Today, Shopify Plus continues to use industry reports as they play a significant role in their lead generation and sales strategy.
